All competitors under 18 on the day of the Championship must complete a Parental Consent form prior to entry. NB: please identify the school or college that you attend.
Warwickshire Parental Consent (englishschoolsgolf.org)
Competitors must have an amateur status, be 18 years of age or under 19 on 31st August 2024 and must,
A) be a Junior member of a golf club which is affiliated to a county union or association,
B) must attend a school or college full time within Warwickshire or the West Midlands (Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire). If pupils are registered as home schooled, within these counties then they are also eligible,
C) must not play or have played in any other county schools event other than Warwickshire Schools Championships since the 1st January 2024.
NB: This competition will also lead to the England Under 16 championships. Players who are under 16 on the 31st August 2024 are eligible to qualify for the ESGA Under 16 National Championships.
Conditions of Play
A) Girls - 18 holes scratch medal competition for the Warwickshire Schools Championship. A tie for the Championship will be decided by a sudden death play off over the 18th hole. Ties for other prizes will be decided, if necessary, on the last 9, 6, 3 and 1.
B) Gross prizes will be awarded in the following groups (age as per entry above)
Group 1 aged 17 and 18
Group 2 aged 15 and 16
Group 3 aged 13 and 14
Group 4 under 13
NB: these groups may be reduced at the discretion of the organising committee if the entries are low.
C) The Warwickshire Schools best nett trophy for the player with the lowest nett medal score plus prizes for places, 2, 3 and 4.
D) The Warwickshire Schools Under's 16 shield for the best gross score by a player who will be aged under 16 on the 31st August 2024 - the winner will qualify for the ESGA Under 16's Championships if handicap of 6 for boys and 8 for girls (see ESGA website for details).
E) The Team Trophy awarded for the best nett aggregate of two stableford scores from a team of three players from the same school or college. The winning team to go through to the English Schools Team Championship final (see ESGA website for details).
Prizes
The winner of each championship will receive medals they can keep.
The second will receive a prize.
Prizes will be awarded for gross and nett as described above.
No competitor may take more than one prize except in team prizes.
Other
If the number of entries exceeds the number of tee times available, then a handicap ballot will take place.
