DURHAM COUNTY SCHOOLS' GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS (Founded in 1971) ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS The 55th Annual Durham County Schools' Golf Championships Beamish Park Golf Club - Monday 27th April, 2025. (By kind permission of the Management Committee) Conditions of Play 1. Qualification The Championships are open to boys who are in full time education at a school or college in the geographical County of Durham. All entrants be under the age of 19 years on the 31st August/1st September 2025. In the U16 Championships all entrants be under the age of 15 years on the 31st August/1st September 2025 (Currently Year 10 students at a Secondary School). 2. Categories: The Individual Championship categories: a) Boys having handicaps Scratch – 28 inclusive. Players' CDH Number required b) Boys U16 Separate Championships (Players CDH number required). Team Championship scratch and nett – Three Players per Team any age: All Boys, All Girls or Mixed. Players' CDH Numbers required. Note All U16 boys will be automatically entered into the respective main Championship events including the Team Championship where applicable, but only players who are currently in Year 10 or below will be entered into their respective U16 Championships. 3. Championship Rules a) All categories will be decided over 18 holes of medal play. (Gross and net sections in all Categories. b) The use of the 1.68 golf ball (R & A approved) is compulsory. c) In the event of ties, the places will be decided by countback. d) All other rules as per E.S.G.A Rules. Note: Measuring devices conforming to England Golf's approved list may be used at the Championships. 4. Entries Entry to the Championships can only be made by: An Affiliated School - £10 per school and £8 per entry. The entry fee for the Team Championship is £10 per team. (Max Three Team Entries per School.) GENERAL NOTES: If the "˜Individual' Championship is oversubscribed then the higher handicaps will be balloted out. This rule will not apply to a Team Member Nomination. All Entries must be with the full knowledge of the respective Head Teacher/Principal or their representative at all respective Schools/Colleges.
