At the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday 13th November 2010 Paul Johnson (Bedfordshire) was elected President, Terry Haggerty (Lincolnshire), Margo Horsburgh (Norfolk) and Brian Perks (Suffolk) were elected Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer respectively, Terry Walker (Nottinghamshire) was elected Assistant Secretary. David Horsburgh (Norfolk), retiring President, was made an Hon Life Member of the Association in recognition of his outstanding contribution over the last 10 years. He was also given the title of Championship Chairman as both the new President and the Chairman wished him to continue to run the ESGA's events.
The 35TH ANNUAL SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL ENGLAND v SCOTLAND was played on Monday 13th September 2010 at Fairhaven Golf Club and the result has been posted to the website under Scores & CSS.
The 20TH ANNUAL SCHOOLS INTERNATIONAL WALES v ENGLAND, played on MONDAY 23RD AUGUST 2010 at the MARRIOTT ST PIERRE HOTEL & COUNTRY CLUB, CHEPSTOW have now been popsted to the website under Scores & CSS.
The 19th Annual International between England and Wales resulted in a win eleven and a half to six and a half for England. The score line does not reflect the closeness of the match when, after the morning foursomes, the match ended three all.
The 34th Annual International between Scotland and England resulted in a ten to eight win for the boys with the girls' match being drawn four and a half to four and a half. (England retain the trophy as they were the holders from last year.) After the morning foursomes the boys were down by one point but won the afternoon singles seven and a half to four and a half. The girls won the foursomes two to one but lost the afternoon singles two and a half to three and a half. Another great match and well done to all who played.
The 6th National English Schools' Team Championship was held at Came Down Golf Club, Dorchester on 7th July 2010 when 25 teams took part. To view the results please follow the link to the English Golf Union website from the ESGA home page.
